Letts Monster Practice Review

My eldest Ben is 6, he's in Year Two at primary school, the youngest in his year. As well as the common issues that August born children often have keeping up with their classmates. It is becoming obvious that there are other concerns with his academic progress. He has hyper-mobility which has affects his fine motor skills and has difficultly concentrating. he is currently under assessment for Dyspraxia.

Ben is a bright little boy who has a great analytic mind and genuinely loves learning. He just needs that bit of extra attention and practice to get there.

We were sent a selection of Monster Skills Practice workbooks from Letts for Ben to review. These included:

You can see more about what we both thought in the video below but I thought I'd give a quick written summary here too. Ben absolutely loved the fun monster characters in the Monster Practice books  The colourful creatures really helped to keep his attention and helped him to see these work books as fun and something to look forward to doing rather that 'homework' that he often puts off. These books make learning not only fun but a lot more interesting to him while helping him practice the same skills he is learning in school.

I first discovered this Cornish Organic Children's Clothing brand when my daughter was wearing cloth nappies and I was looking for clothes that were cut for cloth, but even now she has been out of nappies for a while both my children are still kitted out in Frugi! What can you make with 80 LEGO Bricks?

Did you know that there are 80 LEGO bricks for every person on earth? 

 Wow! That's a LOT of LEGO!!

With the amount of LEGO in our house I think I've stepped on at least 80 in my time!

We were recently sent some LEGO goodies and challenged to see what we could build with exactly 80 LEGO bricks.

When the lovely package arrived we opened it to find...

...a fabulous red LEGO Storage brick, 80 LEGO bricks, a building platform and a picture of a funky looking clown that we were challenged to create.

As you may know my five year old, Ben is a huge LEGO fan and despite struggling with his fine motor skills in other areas of life, he is a pretty skilled little builder. 

However with just a picture to go by and no step by step instructions he did need a little help from Mummy!

 We had a really fun morning creating this clown together, which Ben quickly named his 'robot clown' and he loved playing with it afterwards, especially the moving arms!

Along with this challenge were sent a 2 Brick LEGO Storage box, I was really interested to check this out properly as I having been considering purchasing some of these for a while to store Ben's growing collection of bricks. 

It is made from good quality plastic and has plenty of room for a child's collection of LEGO and if you decide to purchase more than one they stack on top of each other too! They are are a great storage solution that will look fantastic in any child's room.

Mummy Me time with Miss Patisserie...

 As you know I've recently had a  a hospital stay and the one thing that I was looking forward to when I got home  (Apart from hugs and kisses from my monsters of course) was a long soak in a hot bath!
