Marvel Superhero Costumes #bargainoftheweek

Are your children fans of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man or the Hulk?

Both my son and daughter are mad about Marvel, especially The Avengers, so I was rather excited when my friend and fellow bargain hunter Pippa posted in the Mymummyspennies Money Saving Group about a selection of Marvel dress up costumes she had seen for just £3.99 in her local Home Bargains!

She had immediately purchased Thor for her eldest superhero Bud. The next day I nipped out to our local franchise Quality Save but was disappointed to find they only had Captain America left and only in age 3 - 4. This was ideal for my 3 year old daughter who was delighted to meet 'Captain America' at Hamley's last month, however I really wanted to treat my son also. This is where Pippa came to the rescue again and managed to get not just a Captain America in size large for my eldest but a Thor for both of them too!

The sizes available were S (3-4) M (5-6) and L (7-8) - not all were available in all stores but at that price it worth a look!

Camping is Ace! #BargainoftheWeek

We love camping! Our family Christmas present to ourselves was a brand new tent and we can't wait to take it out on our next outdoor adventure!

Tonight on the way to pick my eldest up from Beavers I popped into our local Morrisons and saw this t - shirt in their Nutmeg range...

 I agree Camping is Ace!

And for selling this at just £2 I think Morrisons is ace!

I picked one up for both my son and daughter, the loose fit and log sleeves will be ideal for running round fields on our net camping trip!

As I know my lovely readers are fans of the great outdoors as well as a bargain I just had to share this with you. The had a great selection of other clothes at great prices too but this top really stood out!

Muddy Puddles #bargainoftheweek!

If you read the blog often you will know that we are a family that love the outdoors! My husband is a Scout leader, we regularly go on family camping trips and enjoy days out in the countryside! We are National Trust Members and Forestry Commission Ambassadors.

All these adventures mean that the whole family needs to be kitted out in suitable outdoor clothing and that can get expensive! Last week a friend told me about the sale at www.muddypuddles.com  and I am so pleased she did! With up to 70% off children's outdoor wear I couldn't resist filling up my basket and I was thrilled to find when getting to check out that 2 x Fleeces, 2 x fleece lined waterproof pants, a funky skort, a fleece hat AND four pairs of socks came to just £40.50!! Delivery was £3.95, as you will know I usually HATE to pay delivery charges, however as this was my first order I signed up to their newsletter and was sent a code for £5 off which more that covered the delivery charge! So for less than £40 I had kitted both my children out for outdoor adventures! 

One thing to mention is that I'd read on social media about the sizing being a bit small so I bought a size up from what I would usually in both the fleeces and the trousers!

I for one am really pleased to see a large mainstream retailer such as Sainsbury's take this step, I have been using Bambino Mio products for many years and have seen the range grow and develop  from the 'pre-fold' system that was the first nappy my daughter ever wore to the reliable 'childcare friendly' MioSolo's that were loved by my daughter's nursery. I really hope that this will help to introduce the idea of cloth nappies to even more families and make it easier for them to get hold of accessories such as liners and nappy cleanser, asI always resented having to order online and pay delivery charges for small items.

Sorry I've been so quiet this week Mummies! It's been a busy one! Down to London for the Next #NBNworkshop on Monday then back up to Salford for #BBCSocial #Socialmediawhatstrending on Tuesday, oh and it's half term too so we're doing lots of the fun activities in our Half Term in Manchester guide also.

Despite all that I just had to share that Sainsbury's has started it's latest clothing event with 25% off ALL Clothing until Monday!

They have some lovely winter clothes for adults and children alike. There are lovely dress up sets ranging from £12 - £15 before the discount and snugly winter onsies too as well as the classic Christmas jumpers for the whole family!

Even sale items are included in the offer so make sure you route through those reduced rails to grab the best bargains! I found a lovely oversized winter jumper that was half price then had the 25% off so was just £8. Fantastic!

Oh and if you're quick you may be able to grab some toy bargains too! Some of the toys featured in the Half Price toy sale have been reduced down to 70% off, although many of the shelves were bare so it will depend on your local store!

#Bargainoftheweek Stocking fillers from Boots....

It's the time of year when the shops are trying to clear the shelves ready to stock them back up with the latest must have toys that are streamed in to your living room from the children's channels all day long ( you know, the ones your children will be begging you for in December and will then discard into the toybox in the corner in January!)

However, in order to have enough space to fleece as much money as possible out of you over the next few months the retailers have to get rid of the stock (much of which will be the same things but just in slighty older packaging!) currently residing on their shelves, and how do they do this? Sell them off cheap of course!

So smart Mummies like us will be starting their Christmas shopping early...

This week I visited Boots and managed to get all of the toys and gifts in the above picture for just ten pounds.

Yes .... TEN POUNDS!
