Saying goodbye to Clio...

Last month we had to say goodbye to a member of our family.

Clio had been through a lot with us, she first became part of our family just after our wedding over four years ago and has become an invaluable member of our brood since then.

She has been such an important part of our family over the last few years, being there for us when I went into labour with my daughter, and again the next day when my baby ventured out into the world for the first time.
She has made it possible for us to explore the country with our children, visit Scotland for the first time and revisit north Wales, the place of so many childhood memories for me.

Clio has helped me blog, taken us, our picnic and buggy on our travels, she has kept our children safe on long journeys and despite being on her last legs a few time she has pulled through.

However, last month she finally gave up the ghost and we had to make a big decision, our family had outgrown our beloved Clio and it was time to say goodbye....

To our very first family car!

goodbye Clio

I took this photograph just minutes before the truck from the scrap yard came to take her away and deliver her to car heaven up in the sky (or in Levenshulme actually!) joking apart I will genuinely miss our first car.

I like that the way the angle of this shot almost gives her a face, making her seem even more like part of the family, the light from the dusky evening gives a reminiscent feel to the photograph and makes it seem older, almost like a good old fashioned processed photograph, far removed from the digital world of today.

I am entering this post in to the Moneysupermarket.com Phota Your Mota competition

Thanks so much to the lovely AK from My Buggy Junction from tagging me in her post and I'm sorry that I left this too late to nominate anyone else so I shall tag some other lovely friends that have already entered this competition...

  1. It's really sad saying goodbye to a car that has been such a part of your life isn't it? I was so emotional when ours was scrapped, it was the car that both of my babies came home from hospital in!
