From Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June, there is a Royal occasion as LEGO queen puts on her RAEL crown jewels at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester
- LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester are bringing out the miniature Crown Jewels to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Coronation this Bank Holiday
- A tiny 10cm LEGO® model of Her Majesty will wear a specially commissioned 1..5cm REAL silver diamond encrusted crown
- LEGOland Discovery Centre in Manchester will open an hour earlier from 9am every day during half term - 25th May – 2nd June

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation on 2 June the Queen of Miniland, complete with REAL crown jewels, will be making a special guest appearance at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester.
The tiny 10 cm high LEGO® model of Her Majesty The Queen will appear on the attraction’s recreation of the famous Corrie cobbles where she will meet her public in celebration of the historic date. Queen Elizabet’s jewels will be topped off with a real diamond encrusted crown, specially commissioned by award winning jewellery designer, Dinny Hall. The tiny 1.5cm tall crown is made from silver, coated with precious rhodium and festooned with thousands of pounds worth of brilliant cut diamonds fit for a Queen.
In another first the attraction will also open one hour early at 9am throughout the busy half term period between 25th May – 2nd June. Guests who book in advance or turn up on the day will benefit from the additional hour meaning the attraction is open from 9am until 7pm daily.
The royal appearance will be part two of a tour beginning on the balcony of LEGOLAND Windsor Resort’s miniature Buckingham Palace.
Guests to the Windsor attraction will be able to see the Monarch’s 48 tiny cut diamonds twinkle as she is joined on the balcony by minute figures of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. The priceless figure will then proceed on a Royal tour to make a special appearance at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester over the anniversary weekend.
The 2nd June will also be the last chance you have to visit the pop-up walk-through LEGO® Star Wars™ MINILAND Model Display in Manchester before it moves to it’s new home in Berlin.
The display offers an intergalactic immersion into the sights and sounds of this the first in the film franchise. Built-in games offer hands on fun for even the youngest of Padawans who can take part in a thrilling Podrace with the young Anakin Skywalker and help defeat the evil Droid Army in the ‘Droid Destruction’ game. It is made up of over 250,000 LEGO bricks, is home to 2000 LEGO Star Wars minfigures and took 2,000 man hours to create!
The attraction already features a North West MINILAND, built from more than 1.5 million LEGO bricks, bringing the local area to miniature life with iconic buildings such as the intu Trafford Centre, Blackpool Tower and the city’s famous football grounds along with moving airships, trains and trams.
Located in Barton Square at The intu Trafford Centre, the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is made up of a series of interactive features to immerse kids into a world where their imagination can run wild with creative inspiration at every turn.
Featuring a whole host of exciting attractions from the Kingdom Quest ride to the LEGO CITY Forest Pursuit driving adventure ride complete with battery powered off road vehicles, the Centre not only provides fun for LEGO fans young and old, but fantastic educational benefits too.
The Centre involves just one entry fee, with all attractions included in the cost. Tickets are available online from just £8.10 per person.
