The summer was full of sporting championships but now is time for a challenge of the mind! Scottish Friendly launched the Letterfall Championship on 22nd of September and it's running until the 3rd of November so you have plenty of time to take part for your chance to win £600!
Taking part is simple, select your country of residence on the Letterfall Championship website, play the game and the highest scores will show on your nations leaderboard. You can keep playing as many times as you like (take it from me it can get a little addictive!) and the top scoring player from each competing country by noon on 3rd November 2014 will each win £100 and be granted a place in the Letterfall final taking place in Glasgow on 28th November 2014!
The Championship Final will consist of a play-off competition to win a fabulous £500 and the coveted Letterfall National Championship trophy! Exciting Stuff!
As well as being great fun and a way to stretch those mind muscles, Scottish Friendly hope that parents and big kids alike will enjoy the game and find it rewarding and educational. It is all part of their work to encourage children's literacy which also involves them sponsoring the Scottish Friendly Children’s Book Tour in association with the Scottish Book Trust where they have brought leading children's authors to schools and libraries across the country.
So why not pop over and see what you can score on the Letterfall game?

The final has now been played and the victorious linguistic gymnast was Nichola Leaver, aged 20 from Wrexham!
After being named the Letterfall 2014 Champion and beating hundreds of competitors to the title, Ms Leaver commented:
“I’ve always loved word games but to be honest, I never thought I was going to win. Letterfall is an easy game to play, but when the pressure is on, especially when you are closing in on the top score, it did get a little nerve-racking.”
Congratulations to Nichola!
