#Littleadventures with Barny

We love our family adventures, and just because the summer is over doesn't mean we have to stop having them, as the days have gradually got shorter and colder we have just wrapped up warm and carried on having little adventures....

This is my daughter holding a baby frog on a recent trip to the forest.

The latest in our series of fun family adventures saw us camping with the very lovely RedRoseMummy and her family at Red Bank Farm near Morecambe last weekend. As you can imagine living outdoors for the weekend really sparked the children's curiosity...

On the first morning on the way back from having our wash my daughter discovered some noisy turkeys and wandered over to say hello... And the next morning a cow came to visit us in the next field while we were eating our breakfast!!

I loved how fascinated the children were with the animals yet how natural they found it to have them wandering around, they were really sweet chatting away to them and even offering to share their toast!!

But we didn't restrict our adventures to the farm, oh no, off we went to the seaside to seek out some more fun...

The children loved exploring the coastline, from climbing the rocks to splashing in the sea in their wellies and of course running their fingers through the sand to see what they could find, collecting tiny shells and pebbles to throw back in to the water. They enjoyed counting the different coloured boats out at sea, making sandcastles and skimming stones in the water, but with each little discovery something kept appearing! Can you see what it was?

It was Barney Bear of course!

We were sent some of these new teddy bear shaped sponge cake snacks to help us along the way with our little adventures. These individually wrapped cakes were ideal for popping in the bag for a family day of exploring and were a lovely little treat for the children when sat don for a much needed rest after all their little adventures.

'Barny' cakes come in two flavours; chocolate and milk and they both have a gooey center which the children  discovered to their delight!

Even though to a child's eyes these treats are exciting and rather indulgent, us Mummies can be reassured in the knowledge that they contain no artificial colours or preservatives and are suitable for vegetarians.

They are so tasty that even Eric Morecambe nabbed one out of the bag when we weren't looking!!
