Elizabeth has had 6 teeth come through in the last two months and has more on the way so as you can imagine she is quite a dribbler! I am always on the look out for funky dribble bibs that will not only absorb her drool and keep her delicate skin dry and rash free but that also look good with her pretty outfits!
I was delighted to discover the fabulous Cornish Daisy through Facebook! After popping over to the website and reading about Kate (who is the SAHM of 4 behind Cornish Daisy) I was very impressed!
As well as loving the array of bright and funky bibs available on her website, I admired the the whole ethos of her family's life and business. All her bibs are made at their home Studio in Cornwall. They live and work as sustainably as possible, heating their studio with a woodburner using wood from their own woodland, and using water from a borehole. They are also planning on introducing further measures to make their life as carbon neutral as they can!
It is not surprising then to hear that they source materials where possible from UK manufacturers and all fabric offcuts are recycled for use by local playgroups and schools!
The lovely Kate kindly sent me two bibs for Elizabeth to wear and me to review. The two bibs we were sent were the funky unisex 'Light Green and White Stripes' and the beautifully girly 'Forget me not.'
As advised by Kate I washed the bibs (without conditioner) to increase absorbency prior to wearing.
I could not believe how quickly they dried! They were hung up on an airier in the bathroom and were completely dry when I went up a couple of hours later!
The bibs looked great on Elizabeth and she seemed very comfortable in them not trying to pull at them at all! The Green and white striped one looked great with Elizabeth's bright outfits and even with just her matching Green Nappy! This design would look equally as good on a boy also!
The pretty blue floral design of the Forget Me Not is gorgeously girly and looks lovely with denim dungarees or dresses as well as with pinks or lilacs, which co-ordinate beautifully with the lilac stitching around the edge.
As you may know from previous posts I am a big fan of these bandana style bibs that are around in abundance these days, I much prefer them to the fiddly bibs that I had with Ben, as they tended to tie at the back, which is not easy when you have a wriggly baby on your hands!
However there are a few things about these lovely Cornish Daisy bibs in particular that make them stand out from the rest that are out there...
These bibs are made from a soft and stretchy cotton material that is comfortable around Elizabeth's neck and backed by a fabulously soft breathable micro-fleece that wicks moisture away from her delicate skin, this lightweight material also dries incredibly quickly so even with a rather heavy dribbler like Elizabeth, her clothes and skin stay dry and rash free!
Cornish Daisy dribble bibs are available in an array of fabulous designs that goes with all of Elizabeths outfits, many of the bright and funky colours would suit both boys and girls alike!
The unique 'Cowl' design of these bibs mean that they only require a single resin popper fastening, yet they will fit perfectly and comfortably on babies of different sizes from birth to two years old. I really like the shape at the bottom of the bib which instead of being pointed like some on the market, are rounded. This makes them ideal for using to wipe dribble (or even snot!) from a baby's face!
I also love that they are made in the UK, with locally sourced materials in a sustainable environment.
Overall I am very impressed by Cornish Daisy's dribble bibs and would recommend them to any Mummies with a little dribbler!
At just £5.99 each including delivery they are fantastic value for money and they also make ideal gifts! For a really special gift Cornish Daisy offer stunning handmade gift sets consisting of a 0-3 month hat and a matching 0-2 years bib presented in a beautiful organza bag, and beautiful handmade baby blankets appliqued with girly daisies or boyish sailboats!
