First Steps Coppélia at the Lowry

Last night I went to see the amazing Birmingham Royal Ballet perform Coppélia at the Lowry with my good friend Pippa from RedRoseMummy. It was a wonderful performance of the most classic of Ballets and I was captivated for the entire performance.  I haven't been to a ballet for many years and it really brought back what I loved about them.

My four year old daughter loves ballet and has been attending classes for almost 3 years so I am delighted that the Birmingham Royal Ballet will be putting on a very special showing tomorrow afternoon ( 6th March 2015) aimed at younger fans of Ballet.

First Steps Coppélia is an ideal introduction to the world of Ballet for children aged from three to seven years and will include a performance of Act II of Coppélia along with a storyteller introducing the characters and sharing some of the technical magic surrounding the staging of this fun tale.

Tickets to this performance are still available and priced at just £10 each and can be booked on the Lowry website.

On Saturday 7th March, the company will be staging a FREE family fun event giving children the chance to meet the company, see the costumes, take part in fun creative activities and even their face painted. Pop into The Lookout at The Lowry between 12:30 and 2pm to join in the fun!

If you can't make it to Salford why not check out the free downloadable games and activities on the First Steps Coppélia section of the Birmingham Royal Ballet website?

I'll be sharing a review of the first steps Coppelia performance after the show so do check back here to see what we think!
