As you know I am currently a very lucky Butlins Ambassador and as part of this great programme, our whole family visited the fabulous Butlins Skegness resort at Half Term for our summer holiday! One of the many highlights was the brand spanking new Splash Waterworld! We spent a huge chunk of our holiday in this fabulous £16 million subtropical Water Park that contains nearly 3,000 square metres of water enjoying all that was on offer.
From the moment you walked out of the changing room it was a sensory delight!
With bubble shaped mirrors adorning the walls, underwater colour changing lights in the white water rapids, a wave pool and a secret crystal cave, tiny ones had so much to hold their attention.
For toddlers and older children the Rockpool Cove Children's pool was an adventure waiting to be explored with a variety of slides and waterfalls, and of course the very popular water cannons perfect for aiming at Mummies and Daddies! My 5 year old, Ben, was fascinated with Captains Challenge, which consisted of raised cargo nets above the water to crawl though, however these were not open for our visit so we will have to return another time to explore them!
For the warmer days there was lots of fun to be had outdoors too! The Outdoor River Rapids were full of twists and turns and drops, Ben kept dragging Grandad out to experience these again and again!
Although Butlins is a family holiday destination, Splash Waterworld certainly doesn't forget about those who are big kids at heart!
There are a variety of Adrenaline pumping waterslides from the seven storey high superfast Jetstream Flume, to the exciting Riptide Raft Ride and my absolute favourite; the Vortex Fast Flume!
This 60ft high winding slide sends you spinning down in to its giant bowl, wondering how many times you will spin around (I did 3 spins myself but found it highly amusing watching the surprise on my father in laws face as he just kept going and going!) before emerging into the waters below. We went back to this again and again!
Of our five fun filled days at Skegness we could have quite happliy spent most of them in this (in the words of my five year old) 'awesome waterpark' but there was so much else to experience also.

Sounds amazing. Will pop back at 2pm. We visited about 18 months ago and are planning another trip later this year so look forward to seeing the changes! We spend most of our time in the pool too lol :)
