A Bedtime Story with Arnie & Barnie - Nick Jr Review

We love bedtime stories; after bathtime, getting the little ones in their pj's and then snuggled up in their beds next to each other, all excited about which book they are going to choose, it's one of my favourite times of the day! Especially on days when I'm working and only get limited time with my munchkins!

Nick Jr has recently launched  A Bedtime Story with Arnie & Barnie  where well known celebrities read a bedtime story by Children's author Becky Overton. The episodes are shown on Nick Jr each Friday at 6.30pm.

We were kindly sent a Nick Junior Goody bag containing a poster, coloring cards a keyring and a DVD of episode 2 of the show where the very lovely Konnie Huq reads 'Three Princes and a Pea'

My two really enjoyed watching this ten minute episode of a fairy tale with a difference! They were delighted at the different voices that Konnie used for the princes and my two year old daughter was in fits of giggles at the bouncing pea at the end!

The episode length was perfect for pre-schoolers and watching the children in their beds at the end of the show made my daughter ask to go to bed, that's a first!

I really liked how a familiar sounding tale held a surprising twist at the end and didn't fit to 'stereotypes'.

You can catch the next episode where Samantha Womack reads Freddie The Brave this Friday at 6.30.

Last week Backy Overton joined Helena Dowling and Holly Driscoll from Dollys and Daydreams for a webshow all about the importance of bedtime stories and you'll be able to view it on demand very soon on this link...

The Importance of Bedtime Stories

We were sent a Nick Jr Bag containing the items mentioned above free of charge.
