The Baby Show Manchester: Bargains and Freebies!

So Mummies I went to my first ever baby show this morning and it was Fab! I wish this had been 'up north' when I had been pregnant with either of my two! I was tempted last year but thought Birmingham or London was just too far to travel!

As my youngest is now nine months we have all the 'essential baby equipment' but there were a few bits I was looking for in particular today.

A new stroller - We have a Kurvi Travel System from Petite Star - which is great but as Elizabeth will be starting nursery soon and I don't drive we need a decent stroller that folds up small to be stored during the day. With Ben we got a 'cheap' basic stroller but he was older and didn't tend to sleep in it much during the day, so for Elizabeth I'm looking for something lightweight and small folding but also comfortable enough for her to nap in if she needs to. I looked at the Maxi-Cosi Noa (rrp of £150 no official discount but the demo guy said if I asked I could probably get 10% off) and the Cosatto Swift Lite (£26 discount off RRP of £145) I like them both so need to make a decision before I go back on Sunday! Any advice will be much appreciated!!

Travel Black out Blinds - We have had a bit of disaster with curtains/Blinds in Bens Bedroom so while we sort it out I'm looking for a set of these to keep out the light and help him get to sleep a bit earlier. - I didn't see any stalls selling these :( Anyone know and good offers for these anywhere??

Keepsake Jewellery - It's my birthday on Monday and I'm trying to convince Hubby that I deserve a nice piece of Jewellery with our children’s finger prints / handprints on it! (and he's agreed... if I can find a good promotion!) There were a few stores with lovely examples of these and some really good offers - finger print jewellery were offering a second (smaller) charm for only £10 when you purchased either their £59 or £69 charms.... (they were also offering a free £5 voucher if you spent £50, a free £10 voucher if you spent £100, and a free £20 voucher if you spent £180)

Of course I was also on the look out for other offers and any Freebies too!

Here's what I found, this is by no means an exhaustive list as there were lots of other bargains but these are the ones I spotted..

Some great subscription offers at the Prima Baby Stand as well as purchase the last two issues of the mag for £2 and get a goodie bag (mainly baby wipe and toiletries samples but worth it! (Especially if you haven't read the last two mags!)

Fabulous Bargains at Planet Tots! All 'bandana style' bibs (including bamboo backed) were £6.50 or two for £12, The fabulous OOBICOO soft toy tots were £30 usually £35 and I got a lovely HEVEA soother and organic cotton holder for just £6.50 for both! (usually £4.99 for the soother and £9.99 for the holder!) They also had lots of other fabulous HEVEA goodies at great prices too! (we already have the fantastic natural bath toys!) The bag we were given from Planet Tots was really special too - made by a community Project in India from old newspaper!

The Lansinoh Stand had some really good promotions on breastfeeding items including breastpumps (I got a box of their breastpads for £4 - usually £5.50)

Bras4mums were doing free bra fittings and had Hotmilk nursing Bras half price! I really wanted one but they didn't have my size in the one I loved!

MAM had some great offers on! 3 for £10 'pick n mix' on soothers and teethers as well as the fabulous twister teethers for just £1.50 (and don't forget if your little ones use bottles you can get a free bottle from their stand by printing this form and taking it with you http://www.mambaby.co.uk/manchesterbabyshow.asp (limited to 600 a day so head there early!)

Nuby also had great offers with any 2 teethers for £5!

Mothercare and Marks&Spencers had 10% off everything and Superdrug had 25% off!

Bambino Mio also had 10% (so I purchased some miofresh to wash my fluff collection!) (Please note my purchasing this is not a comment on the recent CC debate on their page, I DO NOT agree with CC)

TotsBots had some great discounts on all nappies including their new rainbow range! And they also had their golden ticket promotion with purchases!

The Cheeky Rascals Stand had some Amazing offers including a My Carry Potty with free potty training book for only £20 (potty should be £24.99 and book should be £5!)

And some Freebies...

Sign up to Ellas Kitchen to get a free pouch. We got this one...

Check twitter for the magic words to say to Cosatto to get a free goody bag! (i missed out on this as twitter takes forever to update on my phone :( )

Go to the Everyday maternity stand and say 'Free Boob Nursing Bag' to get a lovely reusable bag with some samples!

Visit Aquababies to get a free colourful duck!

Pay a visit to the dettol stand to get a free pack with some cleaning wipes and vouchers...

I hope hope all you Mummies going over the weekend have a lovely time and I may just see you there on Sunday as I'll be going back! (with Hubby- or at least his Wallet!)
